This is my first blog post here about my new and wonderful SkyWatcher project. Hey Jaan, what is that SkyWatcher project you are talking about? Well, it's nice that you asked...
SkyWatcher project is a my first ever electronics/Raspberry Pi project. My goal is to send my Pi up in the sky with a weather balloon and record this wonderful journey with Pi's own camera. I really like space and Raspberry Pi like things, but I have never had a chance to start a project like this until now.
What I would like to achieve is a wonderful video of a journey to the space and back again including some wonderful data that I'd like to share with you guys (but I'm not exactly sure what to do with it). I'm planning to take video, record GPS information (altitude, speed, locations etc), humidity, temperature and pressure.
So what is this great success?
Well, I soldered my very first thing ever.. and it was a GPS (Adafruit's Ultimate GPS) to this little thing with teeth (I'm still ultra noob so don't hate).

I'm really happy.. it wasn't the best, but it was good enough to work properly. And here's my current setup:
As soon as I get my sensors for humidity, temperature and pressure then I'm going to start building the case for the whole thing.
I had some time and I started building my web control panel that I'm going to use to track this little beast while it's up there. I will release all files and things in the end as well so you guys can use them.
Why I made this blog?
Well, because somebody (I don't remember who, sorry) suggested it to me and because I really would need your help because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. All suggestions are welcome.
Thank you very much for reading this and please leave your comment below.
